Recently I am sure you saw the postings in your respective plants for the position on Vice President for the Local. Our former VP stepped down and we wish him the best of luck. We would like to welcome Doug Shaw to the roll of Vice President. He is the Chairperson of Precision Plastics and brings an abundance of experience to the roll.

Well we don’t know about you, but over here the Summer flew by. With one week left until school starts we know the rush is on to get everything we in time. We here at Unifor Local 1959 hope you all had a wonderful Summer, and we hope you will join us for one last send off before it’s all over. Next weekend is our last long weekend of the Summer, and for those of you who are here in the city we sincerely hope you will join us for the Labour Day festivities on Monday September 4th. It will be a great time for the family with Border City Wrestling and various other activities going on.

After some discussion Unifor Local 1959 has decided to make a conscious effort to have a better presence at the Labour Day Festivities that are put on in Windsor Each year. We have posted a sign-up sheet in your respective workplaces to try to get an idea of how many people will be attending. We will be ordering shirts that will be available to those who attend.

Labour Day this year is on Monday September 4^th.

There will be more information on the Labour day event posted closer to this date.
